What is Broadway in the ‘Burbs?
Michigan Stage and Downtown Ferndale have teamed up to present a brand new free event: Broadway in the ‘Burbs. This is a free, community driven, Broadway concert at The dot in downtown Ferndale will feature Broadway performers from Aladdin, Book of Mormon and more! You’ll hear music from Broadway hits such as Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, Pippin, Dear Evan Hansen, all arranged and conducted by Joshua Zecher-Ross (Be More Chill) and directed by Tim Paré of Michigan Stage.
There’s also lots of activity happening all day on West Troy Street. Check out City of Ferndale info and activity tents, cool off the kiddos in the Fire Department play area, or get a COVID-19 vaccine from Oakland County! This event is free of charge, and suitable for all ages.

Q: Where will I sit?
A: The performance is 30 minutes long. There will be benches, tables and astro turf to sit. No need to bring additional chairs, but you can if you want!
Q: Is the venue wheelchair accessible?
A: Broadway in the ‘Burbs is an outdoor event. Sidewalks and streets are fully accessible.
Q: Where can I park for Broadway in the ‘Burbs?
A: We have lots of options! Park at The dot – 221 West Troy Street, Ferndale, MI 48220. Access Troy street from Woodward Ave. Troy street will be closed at Allen from 10AM-8PM. You can also park at the Withington lot behind Affirmations or check out other public parking locations online and download the Park Ferndale app to make paying easy.
Please note all street signs and avoid residential parking.
Q: Can I get to The dot on foot?
A. Yep! Use the pedestrian alley, next to The Candle Wick Shoppe or enter the event from Allen street or Woodward Ave.
Q: Is this a bike friendly event?
A. Absolutely! We have MoGo bike rentals on 9 Mile at Woodward, in front of Orchid and further down near Planavon. Rent and ride, but park ahead of time. Park your own bike at any of the racks around downtown Ferndale. Check out our new bike locker at The dot! If you need a tune up, make sure to check out the Downtown Ferndale Bike Shop. 🙂
